Monarch Butterflies!

  • Monarch butterflies are the only insect in North America to take a 3,000 mile journey.
  • Monarchs are poisonous because of the milkweed they eat.
  • They have a probiscus (a straw-like tongue).
  • A vicaroy butterfly mimics a monarch butterfly for protection because it looks just like a monarch, but it is not poisonous.
